The NFL’s first openly gay player, Michael Sam, has broken up with his long time boyfriend, Vito Cammisano.

Details of the split were not made public.  Cammisano is the son of Kansas City mobster Gerlarmo (Jerry) Cammisano, 60, who spent 14 months in prison for running a local gambling ring. His grandfather William (Willie the Rat) Cammisano allegedly killed people and stuffed the bodies in sewers to be eaten by rats.

Now single, Sam has been spotted around Hollywood, cavorting with the likes of NFL star Marcedes Lewis.

Sam, who has since joined the CFL, is yet to play a single down for the Montreal Alouettes in their first four games of the season.
