Great news boxing fans as the much anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight could be finalized as early as next week.  We of course are referring to the #2 ranked boxer, Floyd Mayweather, Jr., going up against WBO welterweight world champion, IBO and Ring Magazine light welterweight champion from the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao.

A few of the online bookmakers, including Sportsbetting.com, have already begun offering betting odds Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.  Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was the -140 favorite vs. Manny Pacquiao at +110 odds.

Top Rank promoter, Bob Arum, told the Fan House on Friday morning that he hoped to have this fight finalized by next week.

"I'm going to meet with Richard Schaefer next week", Arum disclosed, referring to the individual handling Pacquiao. "I'm going to put the deal to bed."

Arum said that considerations for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao include Las Vegas, the Dallas Cowboys' stadium and The New Orleans SuperDome.

The date being discussed is March 13, however, Pacquiao's trainer is looking to push the date back to May 1, citing more ideal preparation time.
