LSU vs. South Carolina football odds opened at LSU -3 ½ after their shock loss last week. The line has since moved to -2 at SBG Global. 77 percent of the betting public was on LSU.

LSU (4-1, 2-1) dropped nine spots after a 51-21 pounding at then-No.11 Florida last Saturday in a game pitting the two most recent national champions. South Carolina had enough in a 24-17 victory over Kentucky last Saturday. Redshirt freshman Stephen Garcia replaced ineffective starter Chris Smelley and went 10-for-14 for 169 yards and one touchdown. Garcia, who is 23-for-35 for 300 yards this season is expected to make his first start Saturday.

One needs to consider that in this series over the past three games since 2002, LSU has gone 3-0. They have beaten the Gamecocks by at least 12 points.

It should be noted that the Sagarin ratings have South Carolina able to win in this situation by 1 point.
