After a wild couple of weeks in Hawaii, the Tour moves back to the mainland for the tournament formerly known as the Bob Hope Classic.

Instead of a five-round tournament, it’ll be a traditional 72 holes and will rotate between three of the easiest courses on the Tour. Here’s a look at our five best bets to win this shootout…

Bill Haas (20/1): Haas has been dominant in La Quinta. He has shot 20 consecutive rounds in the 60’s, including a title in 2010 and a playoff loss last year.

Brian Gay (30/1): Gay is coming off a solid week at Waialae, breaking 70 in all four rounds en route to a T6. He posted a T5 at La Quinta a year ago, including a final-round 62, his third straight top-20 finish here.

Martin Laird (25/1): Laird opened 2012 with a second-place finish at Kapalua before taking last week off. Last year at La Quinta, he was 22-under through four rounds before fading with a 74 on Day 5.

Anthony Kim (30/1): The La Quinta High product returns home for the first time since 2008, when he finished tied for third. A win in the desert would be a fitting way to start off his first healthy season since 2010.

Phil Mickelson (15/1): Lefty is the tournament’s all-time career money leader and has two career wins here, albeit his last one was in 2004. He hasn’t played La Quinta since 2007 (a T45), but went T5 in ’06 and T12 in ’05.
