Jan/26/2009's free NBA pick for Monday January 26, 2008 is the Houston Rockets as the -1 road favorite verses the New York Knicks.

Why the Houston Rockets?

HOUSTON  has a record of 16-2 on the money line playing a team with a losing record during the 2nd half of the season.

All trends are meant to be open but in this case, the chances favor Houston.  They have won the last 8 games against the Knicks!

Here is another NBA preview from our friends at SBG Global

The New Orleans Hornets are hurting but they still have Chris Paul and that means bad news for opposing teams. The Hornets are without David West and Tyson Chandler due to injuries and on Friday night it hurt them as Minnesota's Al Jefferson pounded the Hornets inside as Minnesota won 116-108.  Philadelphia may not be able to take advantage of New Orleans inside since Elton Brand is still working himself into shape.  He returned to the lineup on Saturday but only scored six points in 13 minutes. "He still needs time to get the rhythm, to get his game legs," Sixers coach Tony DiLeo said. "He needs time just to play with the other players on the court."

Philadelphia played well without Brand in the lineup, going 9-7. SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Hornets at Home.

Philadelphia has been getting solid play recently from forward Andre Iguodala who is averaging 24.5 points in his last six games.  Iguodala only averaged 11 points per game though against the Hornets last season.

Chris Paul averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 assists in the two games against Philadelphia last season.

Here are the NBA betting stats for Monday's game. The 76ers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. The 76ers are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 vs. the Southwest.

The 76ers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The 76ers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Monday games. The 76ers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in New Orleans.

The Hornets are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. the Atlantic. The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.

The Over is 8-2 in the 76ers last 10 road games. The Under is 21-6-1 in the 76ers last 28 Monday games. The Over is 7-3 in the 76ers last 10 vs. the Western Conference.

SBG Global Current Line: Hornets  -  2  ,  Total  TBA
