With this Emerald Bowl betting preview of Miami-Florida vs. California we learn that the opening line at SBG Global has moved up from California -  7 to -8 as game time nears on Saturday.  The opening line on the total was 49.5 and has only moved up a half point to 50.

The California Golden Bears get to play very close to home as they take on the Miami Hurricanes in the Emerald Bowl on Saturday.  The Bears were very impressive in their last two games to end the regular season as running back Jahvid Best ran all over Stanford and Washington.  He set a school record of 311 rushing yards in the win over the Huskies. "I'm very proud of him," Cal coach Jeff Tedford said, "He's a guy who has played through a lot this year as far as injuries are concerned. You have to take your hat off to him. He comes out every week and he tries to practice, and we have to sit him down and rest him. And every week, he shows up at the game and puts his best effort forward." SBG Global reports that early College Football betting has the public taking California at Home.

The home field edge will definitely be with the Bears since the Emerald Bowl will be played at AT&T Park in San Francisco. "It's going to be exciting to be close to home," Best said. "We'll have a lot of good fans there, and hopefully it will feel like a home game." Best could have a big game against a Miami defense that allowed a combined 691 rushing yards in losses at Georgia Tech and North Carolina State.

The Hurricanes are back in a bowl game after missing out last season.  It is the 23rd bowl game in the last 26 years for the Hurricanes.  They have won 8 of their last 10 bowl games overall.  Cal has gone to a bowl game in six straight seasons under Tedford and has won the last three.

Miami has been rotating two freshmen at quarterback this season but Robert Marve was suspended and will miss this game because he violated team academic rules.

Miami and California have not met since 1990 and the Hurricanes are 2-1 all-time versus the Bears.  Here are the College Football betting stats for Saturday's game. The Hurricanes are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in December.

The Golden Bears are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a favorite. The Golden Bears are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
