They have separated odds between the men and women.  Kenyan runner, Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot, is the near even favorite among the men, paying $125 for every $100 bet.  Ethiopian runners, Bezunesh Bekele and Dire Tune, are both favored to win the women's race at +250 odds for a payout potential of $250 on every $100 bet.

Cheruiyot is the current record holder and four-time winner of the Boston Marathon. He won the Boston Marathon in 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2008. His 2006 Boston finishing time of 2:07:14 broke a Boston marathon course record set by Cosmas Ndeti that had lasted 12 years.

At the 2007 IAAF World Road Running Championships she finished fourth and set a new national half marathon record of 1:08:07. The record was beaten by Dire Tune, who won the 2009 Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon setting the Ethiopian half marathon record of 1:07:18.

The Boston Marathon is an annual marathon sporting event hosted by the city of Boston, Massachusetts, on Patriots' Day, the third Monday of April. Begun in 1897 and inspired by the success of the first modern-day marathon competition in the 1896 Summer Olympics, the Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon and ranks as one of the world's most well-known road racing events. It is one of five members of the World Marathon Majors.
