While those residing in the United States can bet on the 2009 US Masters Golf Tournament, they might not necessarily get the best odds.  Betting on the US Masters Golf is more lucrative it seems among those online sportsbooks that do not take bets from Americans.

Case in point: Sportingbet.com the UK-based publicly traded online bookmaker that offered some of the very best odds on the US Masters, including the highest payout on Tiger Woods.

"Tiger Woods would pay US$240 for every US$100 bet at Sportingbet compared to some US facing counterparts that would only pay $150 or less," points out Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of Gambling911.com.

In fact, a review of odds across the board show that Sportingbet paid the best odds on 7 of the top 12 listed golfers.

Even Padraig Harrington, who is likely to get the most action in the UK after Tiger Woods, promised the best payout at Sportingbet.com.

"$1600 compared to $1300 at some US-facing brands," claims O'Brien.  "We've also seen Sportingbet offering Vijay Singh at +6600 odds compared to +4000 at some of their US-facing counterparts."

Jim Furyk was yet another with a huge variance in payout potential.  He would pay out US$6600 for every US$100 bet at Sportingbet compared to US$3000 at some online sportsbooks.

"If you can open a Sportingbet account for betting on the US Masters Golf, do so," O'Brien urged Gambling911.com Canadian and European readers, not to mention those the world over looking to place wagers on this event.

The US Masters is one of the most bet on events of the year in fact.
