Just to once again reinforce the notion that golf tournaments often pay out big for sports bettors, it appeared as if Adam Scott was well on his way to winning this year’s British Open at significant odds of 35/1.  The payout would have been $350 for every 10 bet at WagerWeb.com.

Barring a complete self implosion, Australian Adam Scott looked to secure his first major title.  He took a four-shot lead into the final round ahead of the likes of Tiger Woods and Ernie Els.

Scott was favored after Day 3 with a line of -175.

Tiger Woods, the former world’s number one, has not won a major title since the US Open in 2008 and his chances of ending that streak looked to have disappeared with a triple-bogey seven on the sixth hole.
