March Madness Betting Predictions

Gambling911.com has some useful trends and predictions when contemplating your 2009 NCAA brackets and March Madness betting.  Let's take a look at some key games and stats.

Cornell after scoring 60 points or less is 11-0 Against The Spread over the last three seasons.  This stat might not help with your brackets but it's definitely a good one for gamblers who get a comfort level of 13 points - the number of points in which Cornell can lose and sports bettors can still win. BetUS.com had Cornell as the +13 underdog.  This one did open at +13 ½, suggesting some money was flowing Cornell's way.

Washington is a team that many believe could lose as the higher seed, and here we happen to have a stat that brings that belief into perspective.  In road games where Washington is playing against a non-conference opponent, they have gone 1-8 over the last three seasons Straight Up.  In other words, you don't even have to worry about the +5 Mississippi State line here - although we recommend betting Mississippi to cover.   This is certainly a good team to consider for one's 2009 NCAA brackets if you're looking to get away from the higher seeded team selections.

There is even more reason to believe Washington is heading for an upset.

Washington committed more turnovers than their tournament team opponents. Washington won games thanks to a good edge in rebounding (plus-5.3 per game).

For the season, Mississippi State was minus-4.5 rebounds per game against tournament teams. However, in the SEC tournament, Mississippi State outrebounded three of its four opponents by 15 total rebounds (nearly four per game). If the Mississippi State continues to rebound like it has the past few weeks, they could upset Washington.

Here is a stat which doesn't necessarily catch our attention all that much outside of the belief around certain circles that Michigan can beat Clemson.

In games played on neutral courts, Clemson is 15-23 Straight Up.  Now this stat is even more significant for sports bettors who can get Michigan as the +5 underdog.
