Texas State vs Texas Tech FREE NCAA Football Pick

The Big 12 is an interesting conference, one that many analysts sometimes forget about when they are talking about the national title picture. That is all going to change because there is some greatness coming through thanks to Kliff Kingsbury and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. This team is unbeaten and on top of the Big 12. However, they will have to face the Texas State Bobcats this weekend in an interesting match up.

Current line: Texas Tech – 27 ½ / Over & Under at 47 ½

Time:  Saturday, September 21, 6:00 pm (CST) Fox Sports Southwest

Texas Tech is a proven team with a good program, meanwhile the Bobcats are trying to make a name of themselves and create a rivalry. Texas State’s inexperience is definitely something that is worth noting. You’ll have to understand that the success that they need is not so quickly coming with Tyler Arndt as quarterback. That doesn’t mean that things can’t work out, as they do have a good running back in Chris Nutall. Even with these offensive weapons at the helm, a great deal of fight is going to be needed to get past the Texas Tech team.

The Red Raiders have allowed teams to gain a great deal of yards, and that’s where the hole is here. If the Texas State crew can find a way to run up the yardage, they may tire out the defense and open up the passing game. That is a big “if” however, as they are not well experienced in facing this type of heavy handed team.

The Match Up:

On paper, the numbers are overwhelmingly in favor of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. They are in a great momentous occasion and will find a way to edge out a lesser team, even if they rack up the points. The analysts are going with them, and it’s hard not to go that way. Baker Mayfield left due to injury, but may be the wildcard here, and that’s going to be something that is worth looking into. An underdog here in Texas State is just too far gone to get our pick, it’s just too much of a gap. That’s why we’re going with Texas Tech at – 27 ½.

The Edge:

Our pick is Texas Tech – 27 ½

SportsCashSystem.com Prediction: Texas Tech – 27 ½
