The Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the St. Louis Rams this week and the game should be an interesting one overall. Both teams need to pick up a win, and neither one is doing above average right now. Turn back time to last year and both teams were less than stellar, even though there were some shining moments.

The Cowboys last season were averaging terrible yardage in the run game, and though they seem to have done a little better in the past couple of games, they are far from the Cowboys of old. Meanwhile the St. Louis Rams have a good running game and will look to take out the Dallas team with solid running. The aerial attack isn’t half bad either, but we’ll have to wait and see if they can capitalize on the floundering Dallas secondary. Tony Romo is still a bit sore from the shot to the ribs he took in week 1, and it seems to be taking a bit away from his game. Look to see the Rams isolate him and try to scare him into throwing an interception here and there.

St. Louis has some strong skills with the ball and they definitely put on a show against Arizona. Even though they aren’t necessarily the favorite team to get to the Super Bowl, they still have enough weapons on both sides of the ball to be dangerous. It’s for that reason that you can’t count them out just yet. The Rams defense sure like to block the run, and they proved that against Atlanta, so the Dallas aerial attack is going to have to overcome this little caveat.

Dallas seems poised to get back a win here, but the underdogs are looking a tad bit better. If they can just move through some solid carries, and avoid some simple mistakes, look for them to pull it off, narrowly though.

The Match Up:

We’re going to see an interesting match here, both teams have some upsides, but the takeaway from it all is simple, the St. Louis Rams are hungry and they are going to take it to Dallas to a point where the Cowboys are once again going to be reeling. It’s with that in mind that we’re going with the Rams +3 ½ on this one, even if it’s not the favorable one by most analysts. Watch for them to tighten up their game here.
