The New York Jets are in a new world of football, especially since they let go of the weight that was Tim Tebow and Sanchez’s injury has led to another name getting the job done for New York. Their rookie quarterback is quite good, but they aren’t facing just any team, they are going into a showdown on Thursday night that will definitely be a proving ground as they face the New England Patriots.
The Jets are underdogs on paper, even with the New England team not impressing most analysts. They even struggled against the Buffalo Bills, of all teams, but they cover the spread so that’s something to consider, especially when they are favored with double digits. This one is something of an illusion for some, and something that is a no brainer for others. Bettors that are looking at the overall will profit, especially if you’re looking to play over the total.
Perhaps the best thing to come about for the Jets is the fact that the Patriots aren’t exactly 100%. Their injuries are many, and they are dealing with problems on both sides of the line, including major names out like Shane Vereen, Danny Amendola, and of course Rob Gronkowski. These elements missing will definitely prove to be something that the Jets can in fact capitalize on, assuming they aren’t the Jets of old.
Tom Brady is definitely a good quarterback, there’s no argument there, but if he goes to the well too often to receivers that aren’t proven yet, the game is going to have a momentum shift that may not be easy to recover from, and that’s where we will see the victor come to fruition. Even though I can say that Brady is struggling, Rex Ryan will not agree with me, as he was quoted at press time stating, “I’d have to see that to believe it, I don’t think he’s ever struggled.”, and that there lies the problem for some bettors.

The Match Up
The matchup is solid, with a wildcard of whether or not Tom Brady can rally the troops ahead of the Jets blossoming rookie quarterback. Let’s remember this is not the back up of last year, this is not another Tim Tebow, we are getting to see what could be a good thing, lest Sanchez comes in and can overcome the shoulder issue, but that is yet to be seen. Even when healthy he hasn’t been able to overcome some of the top teams in the league, not that he’s out there alone.
