It’s impossible for us NOT to be on Max Scherzer starting for Washington Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Phillies, and for good reason.

We understand he’s pricey but you can still get the Nats and Scherzer at -210 at BetOnline.

He’s only permitted 22 hits off of 105 at bats versus the current Phillies roster with two homers allowed during that time.

Scherzer (14-7) twirled eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out 10 in a victory over the Orioles on Thursday.

Sure we’d love to get this ace off a loss instead of one of his best outings of the season, but we will take what we can get.

Jared Eickhoff (9-12) tossed six effective innings in Wednesday's win over the White Sox, allowing just four hits and two runs while striking out two.

He's won three of his last four starts though Wednesday's outing represents his only quality start in that time.  He’s also given up seven home runs over that span.

Philadelphia is 3-7 in Eickhoff’s last 10 starts vs. National League East.

Washington has won seven straight in this series.  They are 12-2 in the last 14 meetings in Philadelphia and 6-1 in Scherzer’s last 7 starts vs. the Phillies.
