MLB Betting Odds, Trends, Picks June 20: Under 8-2 in Tigers-Mariners Series

Cardinals-Phillies – PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Mike Leake (5-6, 3.14 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Jeremy Hellickson (5-5, 4.91)

The Cardinals are 13-3 in their last sixteen meetings against Philadelphia.

Both pitchers are coming off some bad outings.  This total has been trending upwards from 9 to 9.5.

Pirates-Brewers – PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Chad Kuhl (1-6, 5.61 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Zach Davies (7-3, 4.91)

The UNDER is 9-1 in the last ten games played in Milwaukee and 15-5-2 in the last 22 meetings.

Kuhl is winless in 12 starts since defeating Atlanta on April 8 in his first turn of the season. The 24-year-old has pitched five or fewer innings in each of his last 10 turns.

Davies has won seven of his last eight outings after losing his first two of the season.  He is 1-2 with an ugly 9.56 ERA in four career starts against Pittsburgh.

Red Sox-Chiefs - PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH Chris Sale (8-3, 2.82 ERA) vs. Royals LH Matt Strahm (2-3, 3.67)

The last three in KC have gone UNDER the current total of 8.5 in this series.

Sale fanned 10 on Thursday to reach double digits in strikeouts for the ninth time in his last 13 outings, only to be undone by a stray run in a 1-0 setback against the struggling Phillies.

Strahm allowed one unearned run and three hits in five innings of a 7-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Tigers-Mariners PITCHING MATCHUP: Tigers RH Jordan Zimmermann (5-5, 5.35 ERA) vs. Mariners LH Ariel Miranda (6-3, 4.17)

The UNDER is 8-2 in this series.

Zimmermann is 1-3 over his last five starts despite allowing two or fewer runs in four of the outings. The 31-year-old lost to Arizona in his last turn as he gave up two runs and six hits in eight innings of a 2-1 defeat.

Miranda served up three homers while being tagged for six runs and 10 hits in four innings of a loss to Minnesota in his last turn.  He is 7-1 with a 2.62 ERA in 13 career appearances (12 starts) at Safeco Field.

The Tigers are 0-7 in Zimmermann’s last 7 road starts while the UNDER is 10-3-1 in Tigers last 14 vs. American League West.
