MLB Betting Lines – Free Pick: Miami 1-7 in Pittsburgh, Volquez 5-0 vs. Marlins

So far we are 4-4 on the month following a loss yesterday.  Today we will try to get back in the winning column with our free pick that appears below today’s important trends.

In our vow to stay under -145, we are all over Pittsburgh and the Pirates RH Edinson Volquez (8-7, 3.91), who only allowed a total of 3 earned runs in 30 innings in his 4 starts prior to the All Star Break but has had difficulties in his last few starts.

That is great for us as those poor showings have helped to keep the price down.

As noted above Volquez is 5-0 when starting against Miami with an ERA of 1.95 and a WHIP of 1.324.

Marlins LH Brian Flynn (0-0, 6.00 ERA) will be making only his second appearance in the Major Leagues this year following one lone bullpen appearance in which he allowed two runs in three innings.
