Midwest Region

# 1 Virginia (26-7) vs. # 16 Hampton (21-10)

The Cavaliers are going to clamp down and make it very tough on Hampton to score. This could get ugly early if Virginia has any offensive success. And no 16 seed has ever beaten a #1 seed.

March Madness Odds: Virginia -23.5

# 8 Texas Tech (19-12) vs. # 9 Butler (21-10)

The Red Raiders are well coached and they played a much tougher schedule than Butler. The problem for Texas Tech is that Butler can shoot from the outside and if they get hot this is over.

March Madness Odds: Butler -3.5

# 5 Purdue (26-7) vs. # 12 Arkansas-Little Rock (28-4)

The Boilermakers should dominate on the glass and win this going away. Arkansas-Little Rock forces mistakes but it is hard to see them causing Purdue trouble.

March Madness Odds: Purdue-8

# 4 Iowa State (21-11) vs. # 13 Iona (22-10)

This is another potential upset as Iona can score a ton of points. Iowa State is known for making mistakes and finding ways to lose games that they should win. Look for a high scoring game that Iona pulls out.

March Madness Odds: Iowa State -7.5

# 6 Seton Hall (25-8) vs. # 11 Gonzaga (26-7)

The late game on Thursday night has Gonzaga a slight favorite. Both teams are talented and could win more than just one game. The Pirates won the Big East title while Gonzaga has a ton of experience. This one should be fun to watch.

March Madness Odds: Gonzaga -1.5

# 3 Utah (26-8) vs. # 14 Fresno State (25-9)

The Utes had been red-hot until losing to Oregon but they should be fine in this game against Fresno State. Unless the Utes completely lay an egg this one shouldn’t be close.

March Madness Odds: Utah -8.5

# 7 Dayton (25-7) vs. # 10 Syracuse (19-13)

This is a coin flip game as neither team is anything special. Syracuse shouldn’t even be in the tournament and Dayton isn’t a serious threat. The best bet in this game could be the under.

March Madness Odds: PICK

# 2 Michigan State (28-5) vs. # 15 Middle Tennessee (24-9)

The Spartans are a pick by some people to win it all and they should roll against Middle Tennessee. The only chance for Middle Tennessee to keep this close is to hit threes.

March Madness Odds: Michigan State -17
