While the Pittsburgh Pirates have managed to win seven consecutive games against left-hand starting pitchers, not so fast.  The home team in this series has won nine of the last ten games.

Which stat holds up the best?

When going up against lefties over this stretch of seven victories, the Pirates roster managed to outscore their opponents 35-5.

Pittsburgh is the -105 favorite in this one with Charlie Morton (5-0, 1.62 ERA) starting for that club while Gio Gonzalez (4-4, 4.82 ERA) will start for the Nationals.  Assuming this trend holds up, you can still get the OVER 7.5 at some books.  The total has moved up to 8.  – Dan Shapiro, Gambling911.com
