Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings Betting Odds

Coming out of the first week of the NFL, the second week matchups are starting to shine, and one that is getting a little press here and there is the matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings. These two teams both have highlights and showcased some decent football in week 1, but for their match up, they both have serious work to do.

Current line: Chicago  -6 ½  / Over & Under at 42

Time: Sunday, September 15 - 1:00 pm (EST) FOX, NFL Red Zone

Summary:

In a recent interview with the Chicago head coach, Marc Trestman, all seemed peachy at first glance, but he admitted that there still is some work to be done. The Bears definitely improved over last year, and their win over the Bengals definitely highlighted some good things, but they weren’t exactly perfect as they stumbled through some scrimmages and the coach even admitted that they weren’t the best out there. Meanwhile, the Vikings loss proved yet again that Minnesota has to get the kinks worked out of their program.

The Vikings were upended by the Detroit Lions, and the second or third coming of Reggie Bush. Even though the Vikings put up a good fight and were even in the lead at one point, it was the Lions offense that seemed to be the relentless ones. Minnesota is going to have to sew up their run defense, and watch out for the aerial assault that could come as a result of the Chicago Bears adjustments that they are most likely making at present.

That being said, the matches on paper aren’t half bad, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything as we are talking about the professional level of the game and not the upset heavy NCAA, and while anything could happen, this matchup isn’t so hard to figure out.

The Match Up

Adrian Peterson is awesome, no doubt, but the young corners of Minnesota will definitely get surprised with Cutler throwing far and wide. Remember, the defense of the Vikings suffers from young players that may not be ready to tackle the Bears steady offense that is being created under the helm of Marc Trestman.

The Edge

Our pick is The Minnesota Vikings +6.5

SportsCashSystem.com Prediction:  Minnesota Vikings +6.5
