The Royals will face an Orioles team they have beaten in 12 of the last 17, and as the underdog no less.

Six of the last nine games in this series have resulted in at least 10 runs so it is no surprise that oddsmakers have posted a total of 9 for Tuesday’s game.

Yordano Ventura (4-3, 5.17), starting on Tuesday, allowed less than three runs for the first time since April 24 but did not factor into the decision with his team losing to Cleveland.  Tuesday offers the best medicine possible for that hard loss.  He's only permitted 18 hits off of 84 at bats to the current Baltimore roster. KC is a +120 underdog here.

Orioles RH Ubaldo Jimenez (2-6, 6.59) failed to make it through the sixth inning for the fifth straight start on Thursday though the first five innings were shutouts before getting clobbered in the sixth.  He also permitted seven runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings at Kansas City in his only appearance against the Royals last season.  Jimenez should be especially hungry for a win here and will be replaced swiftly at the slightest indication he's in trouble.

Edinson Volquez (5-5, 4.03), starting on Wednesday, is coming off a loss in which Volquez permitted 5 runs and he'll be facing an Orioles team that will have Chris Tillman starting.  Tillman has allowed 20 hits off of 76 at bats vs. this KC roster.  He gave up his second most runs of the season (5) his last outing but still got the win against the Indians.  Prior to his last two games, Tillman had not allowed more than two runs in six of seven starts.  The UNDER might be in play here if 8 or higher.
