New York’s Noah Syndergaard (12-8) allowed two earned runs on three hits and a walk, but still managed to lose against the Nationals Friday.

In his last 22 innings pitched, Syndergaard has allowed no more than 3 runs to be scored.   He has only permitted more than 3 runs twice in his last 11 starts.

He trails only Kyle Hendricks and Madison Bumgarner in ERA on the season and ranks eighth in the majors with 188 strikeouts.

Cincinnati’s Anthony DeSclafani didn't factor into the decision Friday versus the Cardinals, giving up two earned runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out three.

DeSclafani followed up a complete-game gem against the D-backs in his last start with another strong performance, the third straight start in which he's lasted at least seven innings.

The Mets are 17-4 (winning all of the last ten) in the last 21 meetings and the Reds appear to be struggling once again following a pretty solid stretch at the start of the second half of this season, losing seven of their last ten games overall.

New York has won seven of its last ten overall.

The Reds are 1-6 in their last 7 games vs. a right-handed starter while the Mets are 10-4 in Syndergaards last 14 starts vs. a team with a losing record.

GOTTA TAKE THE METS -155 HERE
