Chicago has won seven of the last ten games in this series and 22 of the last 30.  They are also 8-2 in the last ten games played in Milwaukee.

What really stands out in the recent games of this series is that eight of the last ten have gone UNDER 7.5.

Friday’s game features a total of 9.

Jason Hammel (8-5) starts for the Cubs.  Aside from a nine run meltdown a few weeks ago against the Mets, Hammel has not permitted more than two runs in seven of his last ten starts (and no more than four in the other two).

Hammel is 8-1 with a 2.66 ERA in 12 starts against the Brewers.

Only two of the last ten games he has started in have gone OVER the current total of nine.

Jimmy Nelson is 0-4 against the Cubs despite a 2.83 ERA over nine meetings (seven starts).

He has permitted just six runs in his last 29 innings of pitching.

Maybe this is a trick game but we are taking the UNDER 9 Here.

On Saturday, John Lackey will start for Chicago.  He’s given up five or more runs in three of his last five starts, making the UNDER tough to swallow even before we look at Milwaukee’s Zach Daniels.

Jon Lester (starting Sunday for the Cubs) has also had two clunkers in his last three, though winning his last outing.

He may be getting back on track as Lester had been sensational prior to this period.

We do like Junior Guerra coming into Sunday having failed to win over his last two starts.

Guerra has only allowed seven runs in his last 32 pitched.

We like the UNDER here at 7.5 or higher.
