Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans Free NFL Football Pick

The Baltimore Ravens have had a tough go at things lately, and this time around they may have things together against the Houston Texans. Look for the Texans to come out strong, as they have been in the past couple of games, but they are going to hit a brick wall of defenders against the Baltimore defense. The game should be one of contrasting styles, but the game should be one to look out for.

Current line: Houston -2 ½  / Over & Under at 45

Time:  Sunday, September 12, 1:00 pm (EST) CBS, DirectTV, NFL Red Zone

Some experts have called the Houston team a “Houdini” act, as they have escaped from the clutches of stronger teams recently, but that may not be the case here. Baltimore is showing major signs of weakness, especially during week 1. Week 2 didn’t exactly win most analysts over either, but that’s not to say that Ray Rice and Joe Flacco won’t help the offense once again shine like they did before. Even if Rice is a bit slowed down by a hip injury, expect the offense to flourish with help from Bernard Pierce.

The Houston team is going to be fighting hard, and while they may not have covered the spread in their wins, they are definitely no slouches. This game should be interesting for them as they are quite good overall on defense. They have some major components in place to help them overcome a battered Baltimore team. The Texans aren’t the greatest team in the world, but Matt Schaub has been putting up solid numbers and with Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels in the mix, this could be a quality outing for them, which is why they are definitely a good overall choice.

Either side of the coin here is going to be able to put on a good showing, if they can avoid the silly mistakes they made this past week. The Ravens are great on both sides of the football, when they are focused and doing well. If they bring out another game like they did in the past few weeks, however, don’t expect them to win anyone over.

The Match Up:

The quality of the game will determine who comes out on top. The Texans have youth on their side, with some prime players getting hot, but that doesn’t mean the Baltimore team is going to be an easy win that will carry Houston to a 3 – 0 start. This is a hard one to calculate, but we’re going with Houston’s strength by a small margin. The Texans get -2 ½ this time around.

The Edge:

Our pick is the Texans -2 ½

SportsCashSystem.com Prediction: Texans -2 ½
