Sitting US President Joe Biden has opened up a pretty significant lead over GOP frontrunner and former President Donald Trump, according to a recent Quinnipiac poll.

The news comes following months in which Trump had led Biden in most polls.

Oddsmakers at BetOnline have been a bit bearish with their odds, even with the widest margins between Biden and Trump appear.  The popular online gambling firm has had Trump a favorite of just a half point to a full point since the fall months.

As of Wednesday evening, hours after the Quinnipiac poll came to light, BetOnline had Trump at -110 and Biden at +165.  Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley came in with 18-1 odds, behind none other than Michelle Obama at 7-1, go figure.

The University's national poll found Biden with 50 percent support among registered voters, ahead of Trump’s 44 percent.

Biden was ahead by one point last December in the Quinnipiac University poll at 47 percent support compared to Trump at 46 percent.

The poll additionally found a growing gender gap when it comes to support for the current and former presidents as they each run for a second White House term.

Fifty-eight percent of women say they support Biden, up from 53 percent in December.

At the same time, 53 percent of men say they support Trump, “largely unchanged” from 51 percent in December.

“The gender demographic tells a story to keep an eye on. Propelled by female voters in just the past few weeks, the head-to-head tie with Trump morphs into a modest lead for Biden,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in the report.
