Wayne Root, author and the 2008 Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee, has quit the Libertarian party and plans to run for US Senate as a Republican.

Root’s support of foreign wars and other foreign policies were not always in line with party supporters.  Lew Rockwell, the famed Libertarian commentary, first broke the news with the one-liner “Good news”.

Root is a long time sports handicapper who claims a 33-9 record in predicting Thursday Night Football games.

Titles bestowed upon him include "The King of Vegas Gambling", "The King of Primetime Football" and “The Second Coming of Zhuge Liang”.
