Gambling911.com has received significant traffic for odds on a US Government shutdown, but being a news site, we don’t actually take such bets.  We’ll leave that to the fine folks over at Paddy Power, who, ironically, do not accept wagers from US bettors.

The shutdown is already in effect.  Now it’s all about how long such a government shutdown will last.

Paddy Power spokesman Rory Scott told ABCNews.com that the agency believes the shutdown will be over within seven days. Those odds were 11-to-10.

If the shutdown goes on for eight to 14 days, the odds are a little under two-to-one.  22 to 28 days will pay around 10-1 odds.

A shutdown lasting into December pays 20-1 odds.

At the time of publication, the US Government had been shut down nearly 24 hours.
