While a handful of online gambling sites are already offering odds on the Republican Nominee for US President in 2012, few were offering bets on whether Minnesota Congresswoman and Tea Party favorite, Michele Bachmann, would be nominated.

By comparison, the individual chosen by the Republican establishment to respond to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address, Paul Ryan, had odds of 66/1 to be nominated at Paddy Power.com.  He was getting 1 percent of the backing at Intrade.com.  Bachmann’s odds were found at the very bottom of a list of a few dozen names at Intrade.  Based on betting action there, she had a 3 percent chance of being nominated by the GOP.

Bachmann was set to deliver the Tea Party response to Obama’s State of the Union Address.
