Casino magnate and GOP mega donor Sheldon Adelson is about to begin backing Florida Senator Marco Rubio according to a Politico report.

Rubio, who supports Adelson’s push to prohibit online gambling in the U.S., has been campaigning in Las Vegas and was observed stopping by Adelson’s casino office for a brief meeting.

Rubio’s campaign manager and two of Adelson’s advisers also attended the meeting, Politico noted.

A formal endorsement of Adelson could come as soon as the end of this month.

Restore Americas Wire Act (RAWA) would look to prohibit most forms of Web gambling in all states, even those that have legalized the activity such as Nevada and New Jersey.  Rubio is among the few supporters of the bill, co-authored by Adelson cronies Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Representative Jason Chaffetz of Utah.
