Biden Odds Crash at 16-1
It's over! At least where the gambling websites are concerned.
BetOnline Thursday evening stunned the world after reducing President Joe Biden's odds to 16-1. That's Vivek Ramaswamy territory during the GOP primaries Folks! Biden's odds were 8-1 earlier in the day. That, too, was a new five-year low.
Biden's fall is based on reports that top Democrats are urging him to leave the race.
Oddly enough, GOP nominee and former president Donald Trump has seen his odds tick back another quarter to -225, down from -300 just 24 hours ago.
The obvious beneficiary is Vice President Kamala Harris, who now sits at +250. These are the shortest odds we have seen for Harris yet.
BetOnline, in business since 1999, is the largest gambling site catering to the North American market in terms of political betting markets. The company moves odds based on betting action from thousands of customers.
Biden's Covid diagnosis, announced 24 hours ago, doesn't help either. But by Thursday morning reports began surfacing that former President Barack Obama told his allies there is no path for victory with Biden still in the race.
