Steve O’Dwyer Becomes EPT12 Malta €10K One-Day High Roller Champion, Claims €327,030

It was well after 3am when Steve O'Dwyer finished the job he started about fifteen hours earlier as the Irishman added another triumph to his name tonight. This time, he conquered the €10k Single-Day High Roller at EPT12 Malta Poker Festival. O'Dwyer crowned his single-day effort by a huge payday, securing €327,030 along with the title after beating a 134-entry field.
Including today's achievement, the 33-year-old has amassed amazing $3.6 million in live tournament winnings this year alone, half of it coming at the PCA where O'Dwyer scooped the $100k Super High Roller title.
The EPT9 Grand FInal champion won't get much sleep tonight as he has to come back at noon, for Day 2 of the EPT Main Event. He played on Day 1a and bagged promising 90,600 chips.
EPT9 Barcelona runner-up Ilari Sahamies took yet another second prize, losing to O'Dwyer heads-up. Finnish #7 in the all-time money list received €220,970 for his efforts while third-placed Jason Wheeler earned €143,630, just a day after finishing fourth in the €25k High Roller for €178,580.
American Team PokerStars Pro Online Isaac Haxton bust in fourth place, taking €118,930 and his fellow countryman, Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier, cashed €26,645 for tenth place. You could follow all the action on the PokerStars blog.
There were 134 entries made to the EPT12 Malta €10k One-Day High Roller (99 unique players plus 35 re-entries), generating a €1,813,000 prize pool with 17 places paid.
