Poker pro Mike “The Mouth” Matusow set off a Twitter firestorm over the weekend after seemingly defending alleged serial sexual harasser Harvey Weinstein.

Nearly three dozen women have stepped forward accusing the one time prominent film producer and studio executive of sexually harassing, assaulting, or raping them.

Matusow, a sometimes polarizing figure in the poker community, tweeted over the weekend:

As sick as the Harvey Weistein story is everyone in USA pretty much knew you had to do sexual favors to make it in Hollywood! #hypocrites

That tweet drew the ire of fellow female pro Vanessa Selbst.

You are a disgusting, delusional, and downright pathetic human being. Every tweet you make is somehow worse than the last.

Matusow had previously come under fire for suggesting that Hurricane Harvey hitting Houston and causing such destruction “came to help heala fractured nation.

Australian poker pro Joe Hachem offered Selbst some advise via Twitter.

Vanessa I think you should consider opening up more and letting us all know how you really feel.

Weinstein was the executive producer for the 1998 poker movie Rounders, widely considered by many to be the greatest film covering the world of poker.
