PokerStars MicroMillions 4 Delivers More Than $9.5 Million in Prize Money

ONCHAN, ISLE OF MAN –PokerStars player ‘Ges26’, from Belarus, was crowned the MicroMillions 4 Main Event champion in the early hours of Monday morning, as the latest MicroMillions festival broke several of its own records, becoming the most popular online poker tournament festival of all time in terms of number of entries, as well as hitting a new prize money high for the series.

The $22 Main Event, which was won by ‘Ges26’ for $140,468.56 following a five-way deal, set new records for the MicroMillions Main Event, with 68,081 entries and a prize pool of $1,361,620, beating the 65,053 entries and $1,302,260 prize pool from MicroMillions II.

MicroMillions 4 set new overall online festival records for the most number of entries and total value of prizes awarded, making it once again the most popular online poker tournament series in the world. MicroMillions 4 saw 1,572,760 entries and a total of $9,588,892.60 awarded to players throughout the 100 events, smashing the previous festival records of 1,308,994 entries and $8,289,638.19 from MicroMillions III and MicroMillions I respectively – that’s an increase of 20.15% in player entries and 15.67% in prizes awarded!

The Player of the Series contest is usually a closely fought contest and this festival was no exception. ‘FENOMENICO’ from Russia led going into the final three days of events, but eventually finished third on 445 points. ‘LeGitan.gr’, also from Russia, snuck into second on 450 points, but with five cashes in the last five events, ‘ESTRATEGA 18’ from Uruguay surged to 485 points to take the Champion’s Trophy and $5,200 SCOOP 2013 ticket. All second to tenth-placed players received $1,050 SCOOP 2013 tickets, while 11th-100th got $109 SCOOP 2013 tickets.
