Poker Pro and Husband of Vanessa Rousso, Chad Brown, Has Surgery for Rare Form of Cancer
Big name poker star and friend to the Gambling911.com website Vanessa Rousso disclosed on her Twitter page Saturday that her husband Chad Brown just underwent surgery for a rare form of cancer.
Rousso tweeted:
The cancer looks like sarcoma. 10 lb tumor was removed from retroperitoneal area in his abdomen. Nothing sure till we get pathology report.
Brown is also a known poker player. In fact, the couple met at the World Poker Tour (Season four) No-Limit Hold'em championship where Rousso finished in 7th place and cashed out with over $200,000. As of 2011, his total live tournament winnings exceed $3,100,000.
So just how rare is sarcoma cancer?
It accounts for less than 1 percent of the cancers reported annually.
Thankfully, the diagnosis tends to be pretty good for those who have this rare form of cancer.
Low-grade sarcomasare unlikely to metastasize. High-grade are more likely to spread, however, these typically occur around the lungs. There are varying degrees of treatment.
