A poker playing dog by the name of Jilli Dog has passed away at the age of 17 (or possibly older).  Her exact age was not known as Jilli Dog’s owner rescued her as a UK stray nearly 17 years ago and she was beyond being a puppy at that time.  In dog years, she was at least 40 years older than the Texas Dolly, Doyle Brunson.

Like many dogs before her, Jilli Dog was taught to do tricks.  But one of the most amazing of all tricks was her ability to play poker.  The Yorkshire terrier even played in charity tournaments.

She retired from playing poker two years ago after suffering from blindness and hearing loss.

Owner Rick Caran said she passed away the other morning while he was working on his computer.  The cause of death was likely old age.

Watch Jilli Dog do her tricks below.
