Seeking to capitalize on the closure of Full Tilt Poker, PartyPoker began offering massive bonus incentives to join what had been the world’s number three and four largest online poker room.   Now Party is number two with a bullet, having 800 more average weekly cash players as its closest rival iPoker.

More importantly, PokerScout.com on Monday reported that PartyPoker has reached 10,000 cash game players for the first time in 16 months.  This is the highest level since 2009.

Full Tilt Poker had its licensed pulled earlier this month after it had failed to pay back US customers following an April 15 indictment.  The site has subsequently been shut down for the time being.

Party’s biggest incentive has been the waiving of online tournament fees.
