With an average of just over 350 real money players online, PartyPoker was destined to become the United States’ 5th largest online poker room after Bodog, Winning, Chico and Merge according to stats obtained by traffic monitoring website PokerScout.com.

With its aggressive television advertising campaign and clean, easy-to-navigate website, Party has managed to pull ahead of the pack in New Jersey following this past Monday’s official launch.  Two other websites, UltimatePoker and WSOP.com were averaging around 200 to 250 real money players.  Gambling911.com readers based out of New Jersey were mostly offering positive assessments of the various websites so far.

New Jersey became the third state after Nevada and Delaware to legalize Web gambling at the state level.  It is by far the largest market to do so with a population of close to 9 million (the equivalent of Israel) and a regional population closer to 20 million (the equivalent just under that of Australia).  Residents and those visiting the state can play online for real money.

Unlike in Nevada, New Jersey offers Internet casino games such as blackjack and slots in addition to poker.
