For the first time in over five years, PartyGaming marquee brand PartyPoker has become the second largest online poker room following the closure of Full Tilt Poker by its licensing arm in the Channel Islands.  Full Tilt has long been the 2nd largest room over the past five years following Party’s exit from the US market.

PartyPoker had just shy of 4000 ‘real cash” players on average for this past week with a 24-hour peak of just over 8500 players total.  The iPoker Network, which is represented on the Gambling911.com website through its William Hill online poker room, was within striking distance of just 150 “real cash” players less than Party while it had approximately 500 total players fewer than Party.

The news for Full Tilt Poker is not good.  It was averaging just 1500 “real cash” players and this number will decline further since 7 days is fast approaching from the time they had their license suspended.  Full Tilt was actually still in the top 10 at number 8.

Adding fuel to the fire, PartyPoker just announced it will be waiving all tournament entry fees for the foreseeable future.

PokerStars continued to hold its own in the number one spot with 21600 “real cash” players on average for the past week, far surpassing any of its competition.
