The world’s biggest room dealt its 65 billionth hand this past weekend and rewarded one lucky customer $68,420 for hitting it.

PokerScout's monitoring system recorded a maximum of 99,300 cash game players before the 65 billionth hand hit.  Traffic rose 24 percent last week at PokerStars.

Meanwhile, PartyGaming, Stars closest competitor (as if they have really have one), witnessed a 10 percent decline in traffic after a 30 percent increase immediately following Full Tilt Poker’s abrupt closure on June 29.

More gains can be attributed to the introduction of cash games in Italy, now permitted around the clock.   PokerStars.it saw a 20 percent increase in real money traffic on the week and moved up to 4th place as a result.

888Poker.com is also benefitting nicely, moving up to the number 5 position.  That company reported positive revenue news for the 2nd quarter of this year.   The average number of real money players has increased to 500 overall in the past month.
