The man who brought down PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker’s businesses in the US is not likely to receive any jail time.

Onetime online poker payment processor Daniel Tzvetkoff had been facing up to a 75 year prison term for illegally processing more than $US1 billion in online gambling transactions for Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker.

The 31-year-old and his parents have made a passionate plea with a judge ahead of sentencing asking for zero jail time.  He is currently residing in his native Australia.

Tzvetkoff had turned over more than 700,000 documents to US federal authorities and fully cooperated with the investigation into the aforementioned online poker firms.

His lawyer, Robert Goldstein, believes Tzvetkoff will be sentenced to the four months already served in a Brooklyn prison.

“For a first-time offender who has never before experienced prison, four-plus months inside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn constitutes a harsh and significant punishment,’’ Goldstein wrote in his sentencing submission.

“The reality is that even one day in those type of conditions can be exceedingly harsh punishment for a first-time offender like Mr Tzvetkoff.’’
