Online Poker Liquidity in Europe Expected in June

A French regulator has stated that online poker players in select European Union countries could see a combined pool agreement within the next few weeks.

Currently players in one nation are not permitted to go up against players from other countries.  This has resulted in drastically reduced player pools in recent years as well as limited competition.

That’s all about to change, at least on a small scale.

France, Italy, Portugal and Spain are expected to permit online poker liquidity sharing. The United Kingdom may join in at a later date.

Licensing will not occur for another few months, however.  Online poker networks would be required to submit their software for technical standards testing.

Since closing off the market, cash game stakes posted a net decline for the 22nd straight quarter in France.
