Man Arrested in Raleigh Poker Game Attempted Robbery: Other Bandit Dead

A Raleigh, North Carolina man has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a poker game in North Raleigh that left one man dead.

Brian Matthew Onley, 23, of 4500 Boxwood Road, has been charged with 12 counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of conspiracy robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said Onley and Brandon Dwain Shelton, 28, attempted to rob six poker players at 4809 Sweetbriar Drive on Tuesday. A struggle ensued, and both were shot.  Shelton later died from his gunshot wounds. 

Onley was being held under bonds totaling $1.15 million.
