(Gambling911.com News Wire) – California officials were set to meet today at 1:30 to discuss the prospects of legalized online poker in the state.

The hearing was titled “The Legality of Internet Poker – How Prepared is California to Regulate it?”

Groups in attendance were the Poker Players Alliance, PokerStars parent company Amaya Gaming, Caesars Interactive Entertainment and the Bicycle Casino.  Much of the current wrangling has to do with certain groups unwillingness to embrace PokerStars entry into the California marketplace.  Legislation is unlikely to pass this year as lawmakers will be ending their 2015 session this summer. - Ace King, Gambling911.com
