Free to Play Online Poker: Ivey Poker Facebook App Review

When it comes to free to play online poker websites, none are likely to come close to the new Ivey Poker, which recently launched on Facebook.

In its review of the Ivey Poker Facebook app, Quadjacks.com notes that the “Tiger Woods of Poker”, Phil Ivey, has at his fingertips a stable of willing pros looking to take part in his site venture.  And of course who wouldn’t want a chance to play online poker along side the master himself, Mr. Phil Ivey?

Now the idea behind a free to play online poker website is to get members to pay for upgrades such as a chance to take part in high stakes games with more professionals.  You do this by purchasing chips, starting from 99 cents and going all the way up to $99.

Some more positive site attributes (and one negative) as noted in the Quadjacks.com review: (scroll down for more)

Beyond the advanced videos are “Pro Insights”, a series of conversations between two players – one of whom is frequently Phil Ivey. They cost 35 gold each, and I’m sure plenty of players will purchase them even if they don’t plan on playing any poker in the app.

As for the gameplay itself, Ivey Poker is pretty comparable to its competition. Play is smoothly executed from a design standpoint, and it lives up to the standard of other similar Facebook poker products. Multi-tabling of up to 4 tables at once is available but still a bit glitchy.

As Quadjacks points out, other similar Facebook free to play online poker sites may have a tough time competing with Ivey’s brand along with his arsenal of pros.
