David Benyamine

There are good days, bad days, and then there are the kinds of Fridays that online poker pro David Benyamine experienced on Friday.  Widely regarded as one of the best Pot Limit Omaha poker players in the online world, Benyamine is no stranger to the highs and lows of the nosebleed games in which he partakes.  However, what he did on Friday night is absolutely mind boggling.

On the day, Benyamine rode a wave of rock solid play and being on the receiving end of some terrific luck, to the tune of $1.179 million.  The massive winning session was one of the top five performances online in 2009 and was the largest of the summer.  Over the past couple of months, Benyamine had experienced a bit of a downturn, which was so bad at one point that railbirds began speculation that he was bordering on being broke.  Those same critics and watchdogs are clearly not saying anything of that nature anymore as the player was rewarded handsomely for his persistence.

Over the course of multi-tabling against the top poker players in the world in the high stakes cash games, Benyamine was able to win several pots close to or over $200,000 in value.  Of his big wins, Benyamine took a quarter million from Urindanger after flopping big time against him.  If addition, he won another quarter million from WSOP Main Event November 9 and poker icon Phil Ivey when both players engaged in a raising war on the flop with big hands.   He ran so well in fact, that his last hand of the day was a $185K pot he took down from Ivey once again.

With his bankroll quite robust once again, railbirds are expected to see more fireworks in the coming days and throughout the summer.
