A self-proclaimed porn star who dabbled in poker, Luka Rocco Magnotta, 29, has been arrested in Germany, Canadian authorities confirmed on Monday.

Magnotta is alleged to have murdered his lover, 33-year-old Chinese engineering exchange student Jun Lin, in Montreal last month.  He dismembered Lin, had sex with the corpse then ate some portions of his body.  Police say Magnotta videotaped the gruesome murder and uploaded the video onto the Web.  Body parts were mailed to Canadian politicians.  Lin’s dismembered body was found in a suitcase outside Magnotta's Montreal apartment.

By the time Canadian authorities became aware of the grizzly discovery, Magnotta had already fled the country to Paris.

Police in Paris closed in on Magnotta, entering his hotel room but the one time porn star had already managed to slip away.  Paris police collected DNA on the scene.

Authorities believe Magnotta fled Paris by bus and was eventually nabbed at an Internet café in Berlin's Neukölln district.

Berlin Prosecutors' spokesperson Martin Steltner told the Associated Press news agency "I can confirm that the person arrested was the wanted Magnotta."

Over the weekend, the poker community learned that the wanted cannibal was one of them, or at least pretended to be.  He was discovered as having joined the popular poker posting forum Two Plus Two back in 2010.  His first post using the handle “pokerstar50” noted he had just learned how to play poker while in Moscow.  Only one other post was made by Magnotta, a “blonde” joke.

From the thread

I just learned poker this year, my buddy taught me....any tips would be great.... The moscow poker scene is brutal LOL but I make alot of cash LOL LOL

Prior to the brutal murder, Magnotta had been linked to a series of depraved kitten snuff films.
