Bitcoin-Only Online Poker Room Seals With Clubs Closes After ‘Sledgehammer’ Raid

The largest of the Bitcoin-only online poker rooms, Seals With Clubs, has unceremoniously closed its doors following a raid of CEO Bryan Micon’s Nevada home.

He describes a situation in which Nevada Gaming Commission agents served a search warrant at 8am on February 11, 2015 at his home in the Las Vegas metro area.

According to Micon, authorities used a sledgehammer to break down his door and he was removed from the residence half naked and placed in handcuffs.  Agents seized various electronic devices believed to be connected to the Seals With Clubs site. Micon was not arrested, however, and no charges have been filed against him.

It is also reported that the Seals With Clubs Board decided to shut down the site voluntarily following this event.

This year, a handful of full service online poker sites catering to North American citizens have begun implementing Bitcoin platforms, including long established Americas Cardroom.  Bitcoin is an anonymous digital currency that has gained some degree of mainstream popularity in recent months.

Micon describes the alleged incident in the video below.  It is not immediately clear if Micon's face is deliberately hidden as a result of the ordeal or if this is an instance of poor video quality.
