Billy Pappas Thrilled With 2014 WSOP Main Event Final Finish

Billy Pappas didn’t win the 2014 WSOP Main Event Final but don’t tell him that.  He still walked away with a cool $2.1 million.

Following his elimination, the Lowell, Massachusetts native with just two cashes prior to Tuesday morning’s finish was all smiles.

"This was a real rush for me just to be here," Pappas said. "I wouldn't change anything. Sure, I would loved to have won. But this whole year for me has been amazing. I can't wait to come back again."

Entering this week’s Final Table, Pappas told Gambling911.com’s Thomas Somach he would buy his mom a house if he wins.  Well, he came close and, with $2.1 million, Mom may still have a new home.

“My mom is Nancy Pappas,” the poker player said. “She's the most important person in my life. We have a great relationship. I would love to win this so I can buy her a place.”

His real  last name (Pappaconstantinou) contains 17 letters, giving him the longest last name of anyone who has ever made the WSOP Main Event final table.
