San Jose, Costa Rica – The Beast has always been ferocious, but this January Americas Cardroom's unique progressive points race is downright out of control. Americas Cardroom today announced The Beast Roars, a promo that's putting $80,000 in additional cash into the prize pools of four weekly races in January. $20,000 are being added every week to The Beast cash leaderboard between January 3rd and 30th.
"We're excited to ring in 2015 with an absolute roar," stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "We're going to hand the top 20 ranked players each week an extra $1,000 in cash. And we're going to do it for four straight weeks, ultimately giving away an extra $80,000 in cash on top of the regular Beast prize pools."
The Beast is Americas Cardroom's progressive rake race that's funded entirely by the online poker site, using a percentage of their own rake. The leaderboard competition gives poker players a new chance to race to the top of a leaderboard for cash prizes and tourney seats each week for free, just by playing cash tables. At the end of each 7-day period, The Beast prize pool is distributed to players who rank on the weekly leaderboard.
With a new leaderboard each week, cash game players have the opportunity to participate in a brand new large-scale Beast tournament every seven days, winning cash, plus seats in tournaments that lead to big land-based and online events like the Punta Cana Poker Classic and The Cage.
The extra $1,000 will be paid to the top 20 players in each weekly competition beginning January 3rd and ending on January 30th.
The extra cash could come in handy for Americas Cardroom players who want to play in Winning Millions. The $1 million guaranteed online poker tournament gets underway on February 22nd at 3:00pm ET and features a first place prize of $200,000.
