2015 ASIA CHAMPIONSHIP OF POKER
The 2015 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), which takes place from October 30 to November 15, and is the largest annual poker festival in the Far East, draws the world’s best to Macau.

Last year, the ACOP attracted nearly 3,000 entrants and awarded more than HK$116 million (USD $15m) in prize money.  The 2015 instalment is expected to eclipse those figures with a record 23 cash tournaments scheduled over the 17-day series.

“The support and enthusiasm has been there since Day 1 in the Asia Pacific but the ACOP has really caught the eye of poker players globally after the huge success from last year.” said APPT President Danny McDonagh.  “The series has seen a massive growth during its three year run so far.  The prize money in 2014 more than doubled the previous year’s totals.  We fully expect that positive trend to continue as the ACOP enters its fourth year.”

There are 15 ‘ACOP Title Events’ at hand – with 13 of them counting towards APOY – which have buy-ins ranging from HK$2,500 to HK$500,000.  As with previous years, each of those winners will receive one of the prestigious ‘Spadie’ trophies.

Taking centre stage will once again be the HK$100,000 (USD $13,000) buy-in Main Event which comes with a HK$15 million prize pool guarantee.  The eventual champion will be awarded the coveted Gold Spadie trophy.

The ACOP has become a must-play event on the international poker circuit.  Last year, the biggest names in poker made the trip to Macau including Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Liv Boeree, Isaac Haxton, Eugene Katchalov, Randy ‘nanonoko’ Lew; as well as Phil Ivey, Dan Colman, Dan Smith, and Steve O’Dwyer who won HK$14,470,400 (USD $1.8m) after capturing the Super High Roller title.
