Americas Cardroom Cash Game Traffic Up Nearly 40 Percent Over Last Year

San Jose, Costa Rica – The US-facing network credits its growth during an industry wide downswing to its innovative promotions like the new Million Dollar Sundays tournament (next one April 12th). “Our numbers reflect the demand for a competitive high traffic site for US players to play on,” stated ACR spokesperson Michael Harris. “Players are turning to us because they recognize they get more back on our network.”

The network’s diverse cash game promotional benefits, along with an overall tournament schedule that's bigger than the other US-facing networks, have increased its appeal to players. WPN hosts the only weekly progressive rake race dubbed “The Beast” that awards cash prizes and tournament tickets to its ring game players. To date, “The Beast” promotion alone has awarded over $5,000,000 to its players. The promotion cost comes directly from the rake and is an extra benefit over and above their competitive VIP program.

Throughout January and February, WPN introduced “The Beast Roars” promotion and added $20,000 per week to the rake race. New cash game players turned to the site as the top 20 finishers of each race were credited with an extra $1,000 over and above their weekly win.

WPN’s aggressive overhaul of their tournament schedule over the past year has brought new life to the network as well. Prize pool guarantees have increased across the board while multiple tournaments were added to the daily schedule. In February, WPN successfully hosted the first $1,000,000 GTD poker tournament in four years by any US facing network. Due to its wild popularity, history repeats itself next month as WPN hosts a “Million Dollar Sunday” on April 12th at 3:00 pm ET.

“We’ve listened to our players and have been focusing on delivering a product that is relevant and exciting to players in the US,” continued Harris. “US players deserve the same opportunity to compete in big ticket poker events and exciting cash games as any other player in the world.”

WSOP Qualifiers

Last month, WPN began running satellites for packages to the 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event. The network will be qualifying 50 players this year via satellites. Each qualifying package worth $12,500 includes the $10,000 Main Event buy-in along with $2,500 for flight and hotel expenses. ‘The Beast & SNC Two Seat GTD’ satellites run every Sunday at 6pm ET and players can buy in directly for just $55 or receive a free ticket by earning enough points in the weekly cash and Sit & Go races.
